There are several Ghillies you can contact who will arrange fishing trips for you - see the booklet in the chalet for details. Head North and a 45 min. drive takes you to Drumbeg, a fine run along the coast over mountain roads with some good stopping places to admire the views. There is some excellent Trout fishing on the Lochs at Drumbeg and a personal recommendation is the very experienced Ghillie who runs the Assynt Sporting Co. will take you out boat fishing for Trout (rods can be supplied) on the Loch. His knowledge, patience and teaching style are first class and beginners to experts are catered for.

A warm welcome can found in the Drumbeg hotel Aprés fishing, with a drink or an excellent meal to finish the day off nicely. There is normally an informal music session in the Hotel bar every Tuesday evening which is open to all wishing to play. For local shore fishing, there are many marks along the coast - it’s a case of trying what looks good. Pollack fishing off Kirkaig Point can be good during the season and as well as spinning, try fly fishing - Pollack will sometimes take a fly, which holds promise of an exciting time using a light Trout rod!

Deerstalking is available during the season also via the Assynt Sporting Co. Details, including telephone numbers are in the booklet in the chalet.
